Part Two Of The Lucias Saga

"Daddy?!" a panicked voice called. Lucy shot a look at Zone before continuing with breakfast.

Running to the room, Zone opened the door as he practically dove at Lucias, wrapping him in a gentle tackle-hug. "It's okay Lucias, I was just helping your Mom with something." Zone said.

Lucias hugged his dad tightly. "Please don't go away again Daddy." he said quietly.

Smiling softly, Zone wrapped his arms around his son as he said "Don't worry, I won't. I promise."

A grumbling noise could be heard from Lucias' stomach, causing the little boy to giggle.

Chuckling slightly, Zone easily picked up Lucias with a single arm, slinging him over his shoulder as he took large exaggerated strides, swaying back and forth as he carried Lucias to the kitchen.

Lucias giggled more and Lucy turned to see the boys and started laughing.

Chuckling, Zone sat down at the table, Lucias still dangling on his shoulder as he relaxed.

"Daddy! Let me down!" Lucias giggled.

PLavcing his free hand on his chin as he rubbed it contemplatively, Zone said "Nah, you're too much of a teddy bear for me to lt you down." As he said this he flipped Lucias around, Wrapping his arms around the child as he leaned back and closed his eyes, oblivious to the slowly tipping backwards chair.

Lucy turned to look at the boys and shrieked in fear the tipping chair.

Sighing slightly at the shriek, Zone merely extened some of his titches/threads and used them to level out the chair again.

Lucy glared and turned around.

"Uh oh.. Mummy mad." Lucias whispered.

Grinning slightly at his son's words, Zone merely replied with "She's not mad at us, she's just mad that we can do super awesome stuff like this and sh can't."

Lucy turned and shot daggers at Zone before briskly walking to the bedroom and slamming the door.

"Maybe she's mad cause she's on her 'Mummy time'." the young boy whispered to his dad.

Laughing loudly, Zone said "Maybe. I mean, she was yelling at me quite a bit last night. Pretty loudly too."

Lucy came out of the room, completely dressed. She grabbed a jacket and slipped on a pair of boots before exiting the house, slamming that door too.

Lucias watch his mother with wide eyes. "She's never done that before. Daddy? Is Mommy leaving forever?" the little boy asked worriedly.

Shaking his head, Zone said "She's going to come back. She wouldn't leave you, and if she even thought about doing it I would kick her butt before she was able to."

Lucias looked at the door, still obviously worried.

Sighing slightly, Zone said "If you are really that worried, I suppose we can go look for her."

Lucias looked at him. "Mummy says I can't go outside." he said.

Then I'll go look for her myself." Zone said with a grin.

"Okay." Lucias said, slipping off of his dad's lap and went over to the couch, grabbing a remote and pressing a few buttons before staring at the TV screen.

Standing as he pulled a thick, fur-lined jacket on, Zone opened the door, calling out to Lucias as he said "Don't let any strangers in." before closing and locking the door. He then began to trudge through the snow, looking for Lucy.

Lucy stood a few yards away, glaring angrily at a tree while crying.
